Client-side DFNS SDK for Android apps written in Kotlin, with passkey signing, user authentication, login flows, and delegated wallet support.
Attention: This project is currently in BETA.This means that while we’ve worked hard to ensure its functionality, stability, and security, there may still be bugs, performance issues, or unexpected behavior.
For native platform developers, we’ve created an Android Kotlin SDK to accelerate the Android development process.
Minimum device requirements are driven by passkey support:
Android 9 (API level 28) or higher. The SDK is built with minSdk = 28, matching passkey support on Android.
Credential Manager provider. Passkeys are created and asserted through Credential Manager. On Android 13 and below, this is backed by Google Play services, and your app must include the androidx.credentials:credentials-play-services-auth dependency alongside the SDK. Android 14 and above also supports third-party credential providers.
Screen lock configured. Passkey creation fails on devices without a PIN, pattern, or biometric lock.
A credential provider account. By default passkeys are saved to Google Password Manager, which requires a signed-in Google account.
